At Bethonga Whole Foods, we love what we do.
We love the fact that we’ve built our business – and our reputation – on one very special pineapple. The low-acid, hybrid Bethonga Gold was brought to Australia from Hawaii by Bethonga Pines founder, John Grigg in 1987 – and has never been bettered.
Simply too good for canning, the Bethonga Gold has inspired every aspect of our business.
In January, 2005, we amalgamated the activities of Bethonga Pines, responsible for horticultural activities, and Glasshouse Country Packing, responsible for packing and transport, with a marketing team responsible for presenting the Bethonga Gold to supermarket, independent retail and foodservice clients across Australia.
Today, our business is based at our 300 hectare home farm at Wamuran, near Caboolture on the Queensland coast, with contracted growers supplying from plantations along the state's coastline.
